About this deal

The après-ski scene is not identical worldwide; where and what you do changes depending on which country and resort you are in. European Alps Après-Ski is a term in French that means ‘after skiing’ or ‘after ski’. The term became popular in the 1950s. Après-Ski is the immediate aftermath following a session of skiing. In general, it involves piste-side parties along with dancing in lively bars. For personalization of this Ski sign or for custom Ski Sign sizes, please use our product enquiry form.

Val D’Isère (France) – Grab a mulled wine and listen to a live DJ at the famous ‘La Folie Douce’ to see what après is all about. Skiers often enjoy cheap American craft beer and signature Bloody Marys. Longhorn Saloon in Whistler is one of the town’s most popular après ski spots. Image: @longhornsaloonA playground of mountaineering, Chamonix is a near-mythical destination for serious skiers with serious drinking appetites to match. Dancing outside in the snow or on benches to recorded or live music is common. Moreover, everything is done in ski clothing. While many argue that Après-Ski continues throughout dinner, others argue that it might last until bedtime.

But this is far from true. Some of the ski resorts tend to have a lot of action late at night. When you visit such places, you can find late-night parties both at bars and restaurants. And, they can last until 3 in the morning.Because Après-Ski means after skiing, it starts at the moment when you are done with skiing for that day. And, for most riders and skiers, it means at some point in the late afternoon. Besides, some people take the rest of the day off and start partying in restaurants and lodges as early as midnight. It might surprise you but there isn’t any right or wrong way to experience Après-Ski. While some people might enjoy tasting the local alcohol and dancing to the rhythm, others might warm up with mulled wine and surround by a fire. When does it start? Whether it is mulled wine, a whiskey, or even a chocolate hot drink, make every effort to ensure that you have the best drink. If you have skied in different regions of the world, you should know that every place serves something different to warm your body on a cold, boring afternoon. For a long time Val Thorens has been considered the poor cousin of its neighbours in upmarket Méribel and super expensive Courchevel but recent years have seen a transformation into a more mid-range resort. There are still the cheap and tiny apartments available but now there are luxury hotels, top quality chalets, upmarket self-catered apartments and Club Med Val Thorens Sensations, right in the centre of town. It’s a great resort for early or late snow due to its height. Après-Ski has its own set of rules, activities, and dress code. And, it depends on what kind of skier you are, where you came from, and who you are. Moreover, Après-Ski starts in the afternoon where you can enjoy drinks in bars and chalets in town.

No visit to Verbier is complete without a session or two in the Pub Mont Fort, but the Farinet Bar is a favourite, with its sliding roof that opens to let the steam out when the party gets too hot. It’s an experience to remember when they open the roof when it’s snowing and you’re dancing to a Swedish cover band that is leading the shot taking between songs. View ski holidays in Verbier > For the best après ski moments, The Krazy Kangaruh is bonkers and not for those wanting a chilled après scene! Directly across the piste from the KK the Mooserwirt starts the party with ‘The Final Countdown’ at 3pm and then cranks out loud and cheesy Austro/German pop and gets the crowd into a table dancing frenzy. Just seeing the beer servers who carry up to 30 full size drinks on doubled up trays is worth the trip. Those guys are seriously strong. Also highly recommend the Heustadl for live music on the slopes. It’s in a perfect suntrap just before you get to the KK on the left. View ski holidays in St Anton >Colored sun cream – Do you intend to protect your skin while retaining a funky style? If so, grab a fluorescent sun cream and paint something different on your face. That way, it protects your soft skin and adds cool vibes at the same time. Headband – Adding a headband to your outfit is the final touch you can give to your Après-Ski party. Headbands keep away the sweat off your brows and hair. Jägermeister (Austria and Switzerland): A licorice liqueur made with 56 herbs and spices (drop a shot of Jägermeister into Red Bull or beer to make the popular Jägerbomb) However, there is no official start or end time. Some of the rowdier mountain lovers ditch the skis altogether and ‘après all day’. Other recommendations are the Ice Bar for more Europop beats at the bottom of the Penken gondola and The Scotland Yard Pub for a more Austrian-English ambiance if you want to sing along to some more recognisable songs. Spare shoes – Being a skier, you should think about having some comfortable footwear. At the end of a tiring session, nothing appears more soothing than sliding off the ski boots. That’s the reason why having a pair of shoes helps to keep your feet warm and relieve you from pains or aches that you have encountered while you are on snow. A nice pair of boots can make your dance moves fine as well. Of course you can wear the ski boots, but for comfort we recomend changing shoes if you are planning to be at the after ski a long time. You will probably spend enough time in your ski boots when skiing during the days. St Anton is renowned as the best in Austria but it is perhaps too popular and the famous piste-side bars are uncomfortably jammed to overflowing with plastered Brits, Dutch and Germans. It has fantastic off-piste routes like the Valluga and brings a lot of the best skiers in the world to party at the noisiest après ski bars in Austria.Après ski is the most common question we get about resorts and I agree that it is an essential part of my ski experience. I may not want to party every afternoon, but when I do, I want very good music, cold beers, cheap shooters and the option of a sunny terrace. If it’s inclement weather then an indoor area with strong tables for dancing on with ski-boots and lots of alpine memorabilia and style will do. St Anton (Austria) – The resort to popularise table dancing; famous for steins of beer, Jägermeister and oompah parties till the early morning. The Ski sign panel has the corners rounded and smoothed with four holes punched (one in each corner) so that can be easily mounted. Bar Val Thorens. Photo: Facebook (360BarValTho) 2.
