Why We Love the Fujifilm X100V

The Fuji X100V marks a new era for the iconic X100 premium compact camera series. As well as being the first weather-resistant* Fujifilm X100, it boasts a superior new 23mm f2 lens that helps deliver outstanding quality 26.1MP stills and 4K video. Simple to use yet advanced in capability, the X100V Fujifilm is an ideal travel, every day or street photography camera for professionals and casual shooters alike. Mechanical Shutter: P mode: 4sec. to 1/4000sec. A mode: 30sec. to 1/4000sec. S/M mode: 15min. to 1/4000sec. Bulb mode: up to 60min. I owned Fujifilm X100F and I loved it although there were a couple of missing features such as weather sealing and fast autofocus. The camera offers a wealth of video recording functionality, with the highest quality achievable at DCI 4K (4096x2160) at 30FPS and 200Mbps for up to 10 minutes of recording time, with full HD achievable at 60FPS. Full HD recording (1920x1080) can be achieved at 120FPS for up to 6 minutes, depending on the size and speed of the included memory card. Outputted video models include .MOV files as well as mapEG-4 AVC/H.264, with audio been recorded in stereo at 24bit with 48KHz sampling. Film SimulationsDespite this, there are quite a few differences between the two cameras that are worth weighing up. The X-S10 has 5-axis built-in stabilisation, while the X100V does not. However, the X100V’s built-in lens gives it a much a slimmer form factor in use, and there’s a greater emphasis on physical control dials, which many photographers simply prefer. The compact X100V also has that gorgeous hybrid optical viewfinder, while X-S10 users have to make do with a serviceable but unremarkable EVF. But then, of course, there’s the whole raison d’être behind this article – the X-S10 is much easier to get your hands on, even after the arrival of its successor, the X-S20. Approx. 8.0fps [Only electronic shutter, 1.25 x Crop] (JPEG: 90 frames, Lossless compression RAW: 18 frames, Uncompressed RAW: 18 frames) Electronic Shutter (1.25x Crop) Approx. Our pre-production camera gallery started out with a dark, gray January, and our full-production gallery ends with quarantine. But we did get some nice photos here and there.
