The thin optical lens used in some of recent Fenix E-series flashlight models. Sitting behind this optics is the MATCH CA18-3X2 LED from Genesis Photonics (couldn't find much information about this LED except who manufacture it). What I like is the compact size for a 2xAA light, that the beam is nice - cool but without any green that I can see. No one ever plans for bad weather. And even if you do, nature has a way of getting us off-guard. Things like rain, dust, and wind are not always anticipated. But when you are out there in the wild, you better be prepared than be sorry. That’s why you need an all-weather flashlight like the E12. This light is built with a corrosion-resistant body. It has a waterproof rating of IPX-8, which means you can use it up to 2 meters underwater and for 30 minutes. Also, if dropped on the surface, it can survive impacts up to one meter. Another thing is that it has an indestructible Cree XM-ED LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours. This will last long for more than 5 years. No problems here. Though I didn’t carry this light much I doubt durability would be an issue. Construction feels really solid, and it feels very nice in the hand. In fact it feels so good that I wish the clip was better so I could carry it more.

All that confusing nonsense is to say: this is a really, really small flashlight! The new size and shape really make me want to like it!

If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or the light could be damaged by electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
I love that it starts on low with no mode memory. And again, no blinkies. Good spacing with the four modes.Because the clip is two-way, this light will work well as a hatlight. And everything negative I said about bezel up carry would be a positive for hat light use. Power and Runtime
Shown here alongside an Oveready BOSS 35 and a Fenix E01 V2. The E01 is not much smaller, and weighs just under an ounce. I’m not a huge fan of twisty interfaces, so I would almost always carry the E12 for the little bit of extra weight. Unscrew the light head to put in the battery with the anode (+) toward the light head. Align the threads and screw the tai lcap on to test. Usage and MaintenanceLight is fully stabilized! And it’s okay in Mid, you may expect it.But even in HIGH as well! In the latter case, this will require cooling, which is surprising in itself. I don’t remember any 2xAA model with thermal regulation. So in the presence of some kind of breeze or use in cold weather, you can expect an hour and a half or two (depending on the battery capacity) of a light that is quite practical in terms of brightness. Tested in laboratory conditions to ANSI/PLATO FL1 standard using 1 x AA alkaline battery under the temperature of 21±3°C and humidity of 50% - 80%. Results may vary between torch, battery and environments.
