About this deal

It has been stated that the incorporation of nanoparticles into polymerized dental materials causes these particles to aggregate. The resulting compounds can act as stress-concentrating centers in the matrix of the polymerized material and adversely affect the mechanical properties.

Clinical success with these materials depends on their ability to reshape and adapt to the residual ridge after the application of occlusal loads. Long-term soft denture lining (LTSDL) materials constitute a group of polymer materials supplied as two pastes. The catalyst paste is a mixture of vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes with a platinum catalyst, and the base paste consists of vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes with hydride-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes. SLTSDLs can be cured in the mouth due to the low temperature required for their cross-linking, and thus called “chair-side” SLTSDLs. The curing reaction does not produce any byproducts and in practice, their use can extend to several months or even years as reported 12 months for Mucopren. Fixing denture linings isn't always the easiest task to perform. In fact, some kits can be so complicated that many users would rather not go through the hassle of using them. Thankfully, though, that's not the case with every denture reline kit. As a great example, the Acryline Denture Reliner kit is designed to easily fix dentures on both the upper and lower jaw, removing the hassle that other kits require while also providing a strong liner that won't wear out easily. This makes it possible to forget about painful sensations during the lining process, as well as embarrassment when smiling or talking.Dentures are never a pleasant subject to discuss, and they can be even more unpleasant to need. However, there comes a time in the lives of many people where they are unavoidable. While dentures are never a full replacement for natural teeth, they do help immensely with being able to function better than with no teeth at all. Oftentimes, though, dentures can become uncomfortable, and will often become more so over time. This is often due to the lining of the dentures deteriorating, along with other things such as changes happening in your oral cavity due to the loss of teeth.

Kimoto S, Kitamura M, Kodaira M, Yamamoto S, Ohno Y, Kawai Y, et al. Randomized controlled clinical trial on satisfaction with resilient denture liners among edentulous patients. Int J Prosthodont. 2004;17:236–40. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.prosdent.2004.06.013. Composition: The materials are generally supplied as a powder and liquid which are mixed together. Table 14.1 gives the composition of the two types of material in common use. The major difference between the two types is that the liquid in the type 1 material contains methylmethacrylate monomer, whilst the liquid of the type 2 material contains butylmethacrylate monomer. Both type 1 and type 2 materials may be classified as autopolymerizing resins and will readily polymerise at room temperature or mouth temperature. Gaps left by missing teeth can cause problems with eating and speech, and teeth either side of the gap may grow into the space at an angle. The aging of the global population, especially in developed countries, has led to an increase in the number of edentulous patients [ 1, 2]. In dental treatment, complete dentures (CDs) are generally the first choice to restore routine masticatory function in edentulous patients. However, due to the significant alveolar bone resorption and mucosal thinning caused by a range of oral diseases in the elderly, in clinical practice, mandibular CDs cannot be used satisfactorily in many cases owing to movement and pain. Recently, implant-supported overdentures have been considered as one of the options for maintaining and stabilizing dentures [ 3, 4], but due to systemic diseases, inability to visit the hospital, and cost issues, most patients often choose to repair their existing CDs [ 5]. The reline method is generally used for repairing a non-retentive CD. According to the Glossary of Prosthodontic Terms-9 [ 6], relining is defined as a procedure of resurfacing the concave surface of a CD with a new base material to precisely fit the denture base. Relining materials are classified into resilient liners (RLs) and non-resilient liners (NRLs) according to their chemical structure. ResultsAddition of SNPs and thermocycling both caused a significant reduction in the tensile bond strength of Mucopren to acrylic resin; however, in the thermocycled group, the bond strength increased with the increase in the concentration of SNPs (But if your jawbone has shrunk significantly, adhesive may be the only way to help retain your dentures. The basic patient information recorded will include age, sex, years of denture use, and number of dentures fabricated. In addition, treatment difficulty index measurements [ 14, 15] and evaluation of used dentures [ 16] will be performed. Since patient satisfaction with CDs is a clinically important factor for evaluating the therapeutic effect of CDs with RL, the primary endpoint will be patients’ overall satisfaction with the CDs, which will be determined using a 100-mm VAS [ 17]. Patient satisfaction will be assessed comprehensively using a questionnaire containing eight assessment items: general satisfaction, ease of speaking, ease of cleaning, retention, stability, comfort, and esthetics. Participants will be asked to rate their satisfaction with each item in the questionnaire by using a 100-mm VAS to evaluate their current CDs. Data will be recorded as continuous variables at 1-mm intervals by using calipers from the left end. Overall patient satisfaction will be measured four times: at baseline, 7 days, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year.

no previous study investigated the effect of addition of SNPs in a soft silicone liner on its tensile bond strength to denture acrylic resin. The results of the current study showed that by an increase in the concentration of SNPs from 0 to 3wt%, tensile bond strength to acrylic resin decreased. Besides, thermocycling decreases tensile bond strength. However, despite an overall reduction in the tensile bond strength of specimens subjected to thermocycling, tensile bond strength increased with an increase in the concentration of SNPs ( False teeth liners are designed to go between your false teeth and your gums. They may provide a better fit for your ill-fitted dentures. to acrylic denture base was reported to be a promising method for improving denture longevity and repair strength. Soft liners are even more susceptible to plaque accumulation and fungal infection than hard liners and acrylic denture bases. In a study by Ghaffari et al, the addition of 5% SNPs caused a reduction in the tensile strength of polymethyl methacrylate in denture base.

The ISO/TR 11450 standard indicates that a thermocycling regimen comprising 500 cycles in water between 5 and 55°C is an appropriate artificial aging test. If you’re struggling with loose-fitting dentures, DenSureFit can provide customized treatment to improve the comfort of your dentures. Most denture relining kits are made for short term relining, with many lasting only a few months. While some people may be fine with this, others often find the process of having to reline their dentures so often to be tedious and time-consuming. Many of these same people would be quite happy with a relining kit that is longer lasting than what is typically offered. The Perma Soft 2c-08 Denture Reliner Kit is the perfect solution for those who want a longer lasting liner. This semi-permanent lining kit uses a Zinc-free lining substance that is soft yet firm, and which will last for up to 2 years with just one application. This is a far cry from the 2 or 3 months that most other soft liners will last. Mucopren soft is capable of bonding to acrylic dentures and is extremely firm due to the newly developed Mucopren adhesive. Therefore it will not separate from the denture; remains in situ for long periods and no gap will form between the denture acrylic and silicone soft liner. Within-group comparisons will be performed using the paired t-test or Wilcoxon's signed-rank test, depending on the distribution of the outcome.
