About this deal

That sums it up perfectly. Whereas Vanquish looks like a Beetle (Ace) but has the Porsche (Equinox) motor. This model also comes with a pair of wireless headphones and you can program the system so that the warning sound for trash items like iron is at a quieter volume, making it easier to differentiate between different metals. The Garrett Ace Apex is also equipped with a multi-frequency salt mode, so it’s a perfect model for use on a beach, along the shoreline and in the shallows. Expect up to 15 hours of use from a full charge of its built-in Lithium Ion battery.

The designers wanted to create a multi-purpose metal detector model that would be efficient for beginners and interesting for experienced detectorists. This is the fist Garret metal detector that uses a multi-frequency technology. Should we expect to see your new metal detector models using it as well? All metal’ mode is not recommended to be used in trashy areas. Usually, it is turned on when the place is quite clean, and there isn’t much iron trash around. The Ace 440i provides five search modes for specific types of metals: zero-discrimination for all metals (including nails, etc), jewellery, relics, coins and a custom option for dialling in your own preferred settings. The ‘jewellery’ mode, for instance, ignores most iron trash but finds rings, watches and bracelets, while ‘relics’ eliminates most small pieces of iron but detects brass, bronze and lead.Initially used for testing, it can adjust the way the detector “views” iron. Iron is the detectorists nemesis and has the ability to give off ferrous and non ferrous signals depending on its size and orientation. https://youtu.be/G5fVmbwFurQ Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: Apex Salt and Sand (https://youtu.be/G5fVmbwFurQ) Garrett ACE Apex metal detector uses a multifrequency, i.e. it uses several various operating frequencies simultaneously. (read more about operating frequencies here). Garrett Apex can also use just one operating frequency like Minelab Equinox. The following frequencies are available – 5 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz. The device offers two multifrequency modes: Multifrequency and Multi-Salt (the mode was designed especially for metal detecting in mineralized soils).

A metal detector can’t work efficiently with the same settings for all soil types, because soil mineralization influences the device productivity and metal targets detection. To eliminate this issue, the device designers have foreseen a ground balance function. You can do it: If you have some extra funds, also consider investing in a hand probe for pinpoint accuracy once the main detector has found its target. These handy gizmos are very sensitive and really good at locating the source of the find: they emit a continuous tone that gets louder as you approach the target. The Garrett Pro-Pointer is an excellent model in this respect, but it’s not especially cheap. As noted in our presentation, the Viper coil is a blend of two most popular DD coil sizes: our 8.5” x 11” coil for broad coverage, and our 5” x 8” DD for searching tight spaces. With an 11” size, the Viper still covers a lot of ground, but with its narrow 6” footprint, it can also be used in trashy, iron-infested areas to sniff out good targets amongst the trash. It’s the best of both worlds. The ACE Apex provides an excellent depth on a wide variety of targets, and it has 8 sensitivity/depth adjustments. Note: As a result of the Multi-Flex coil technology, the Apex Viper coil is not compatible with older ACE detectors. Prior ACE coils are not compatible with an Apex detector.Garrett ACE APEX Depth and VDI Test Results What Machines Are Considered The Competition to The APEX? Nokta Makro Simplex Nokta Makro Simplex This model can detect coins 12in to 14in below the surface, which is exceptional; indeed, many users have had amazing success with this metal detector in all terrains. It’s extremely well made, really easy to use and a brilliant choice for those who are prepared to spend a bit more on a set of features that undeniably save time and hassle while out in the field. Highly recommended.

The main and the most discussed feature of the new Garrett is the multi frequency. The product, basically, offers four separate frequencies – 5, 10, 15, and 20 kHz) which can be used each on it own, plus, two multi frequency modes. One multi frequency mode is for standard conditions, and the other is for saltwater beaches and coasts. This one is the real deal, for sure. However, when you take a look at the new model, you can see that the company has been following the market and preparing to design a new device. Moreover, you can even guess which companies and models they’ve been following. Use “+” and “-” to perform necessary adjustments. This function is especially useful when treasure hunting in areas full of iron trash. If you often get unwanted targets from the same metal, just exclude it from the search segment. Sensitivity This is a useful function if you don’t want to hear the low sound of iron targets each time when the device detects iron targets, which is very annoying and distracting when treasure hunting in trashy areas. From my perspective this model is literally for everybody interested in the hobby whether you are an experienced, mid-level or even a beginner detectorist! Finally, the Vanquish has an “Iron Bias” adjustable function which the Ace Apex doesn’t. When Minelab first launched their Multi IQ system, this function was included right at the last minute. The ACE Apex is a well-rounded machine feature-wise, offering a more modern frequency technology, and an easy-to-read user interface that keeps everything simple. Below are a few of the more notable features you should be aware of to properly evaluate the device: Multi-Flex Technology Apart from these detection modes, there is also a Pinpointer detection mode, and a non-motion, All-metal mode for precisely locate the position of a detected target. 3. Discrimination and Ground Balancing Garrett Apex has an audio gain control and separate control for iron volume. We should mention that there was no such possibility in many previous metal detector models, which was completely inconvenient when using the devices.
