About this deal

Warmhearted, irreverent, and wise, this cat of many names opens a window to the inner sanctum of life in Dharamsala. Evidently, we are limited to do this because of our narrator being a cat who does not venture too far from her home, but it would have been lovely to explore some of the beautiful areas that were nearby. David Michie has done a fabulous job of introducing the basic concepts of Buddhism to the readers in a very casual and non- preachy fashion.

One question I’ve always wanted to ask you is did the Dalai Lama and the Queen (Queens Corgi) have to, or want to comment on these books? THE DALAI LAMA'S CAT is an often amusing romp through the life of a this most unusual, educated and highly moral cat whose names are many and varied and range from HHC (his Holinesses cat) to Rinpoche (precious) to Snow Lion and Mouser depending on the circumstances at any given moment. What I got: a cat that is inexplicably knowledgeable about american/english gossip and explains Buddhism to, apparently, five-year-old readers through a series of mildly interesting parables concerning extremely flat characters.

Maca i sama razmišlja o značenju tih načela i pokušava sebe učiniti boljom s obzirom na njih (ne biti proždrljiva, ne samosažaljevati se nego krenuti u promjenu, naučiti se strpljenju. Would highly recommend to anyone, whether they just want a light read or would light some extra insight into the world of Buddhism. You’ll hear from me once or twice a month with blogs and other news designed to be stimulating and useful. After publishing Buddhism for Busy People in 2004 and subsequent non-fiction books, I sometimes found myself talking to people who were voracious readers, and had a keen interest in the subjects I wrote about.

On his new pet, the Dalai Lama comments simply and wisely, without anthropomorphizing, that cats, as do all sentient beings including humans, want to be loved. If you are a cat lover or someone looking to learn more about the Dalai Lama and Buddhism, I do recommend this book to you.I really don't get all the positive reviews, unless you come from a place of having never heard anything on Buddhism or need someone to break it down for you in very, very tiny pieces. I love cats and I'm also interested in religions, so which is the best way to learn something about Buddhism if not through the cat of the Dalai Lama? In his capacity as a house cat, the narrator gets to know the Dalai Lama intimately and to be party to his many meetings with other people, both famous and obscure. I red articles about the book and I understood that the cat was real just the story you created around her was fictional. The knowledge is shared via overheard conversations and are accompanied by a feline metaphor to show the growing wisdom of our MC (Main Cat).
