About this deal

Among all these other things, it’s an incredible view on many infamous women of mythology, and it gives a voice to the sides of their stories that we all too often overlook. It plays a strong parallel to the sides of stories from everyday women today society would have us overlook, too, and it’s powerful. Don’t miss out on this one. Waverly sees Doc hanging around and assures him he doesn’t have to look so worried; Wynonna is strong. She tells him to take a walk, because standing outside the bedroom door isn’t helping anyone.

About the Author: Trista Mateer is a writer/artist who traveled a lot in her life but has finally decided to reside in New Jersey by the sea. She started out as a blogger on Tumblr in 2013 and won the 2015 Goodreads Choice Award for poetry. She then transitioned into traditional publishing and in 2017 when she released her first collection Honeybee and also went on to create “The Unholy Wild” and Aphrodite Made Me Do It, which represents her art of prose and poetry. With the relationship fresh in your mind, write down what you still have to say. What is keeping you from moving on? Why do you still think about them? What would you say to them if you had the chance to be completely honest without repercussions? Write it down. Write until you have no more words left for this person. They colored me pink and wrapped me in floral. They scrubbed the dirt from under my nails. They wanted you to believe that love is weak, that you cannot curse and kiss with the same mouth. They wanted you to believe that the root of love is romance, soft and wide-eyed. See what they did to my stories? My temples? My statues? Regardless of whether you desire it, love is what sits at the core of the world. It is stronger than greed and hate and jealousy and pain. What brings us together will always be more powerful than what keeps us apart. As you reach bad parts of the relationship, consider them. Remember why you walked away. Remember your boundaries and your needs. Remind yourself why these moments are things you don't want to repeat. Send them away.

Talking about heartbreaking subjects isn't enough to make a book good. You have to actually work around and with them to create something meaningful. It might sound mean but it's true. It’s this blending of creative energies from two (I assume*) very different writers which resulted in this show. There’s something that’s just ..neat..about that. they married me off in the stories So they could call me an adulteress, but I brought the god of war to his knees” These books provide a wealth of information and insights into Aphrodite’s myths and her ongoing cultural significance. You can understand how feminine power and agency have been represented and valued in different cultures and periods.

Aphrodite’s birth is described in Theogony: A work composed by the Greek poet Hesiod around 700 BC. According to Hesiod, Cronus, leader of the Titans, castrated his father, God Uranus’s primal sky, and threw his genitals into the sea. Venus was one of the first planets to be noticed by our ancestors since it can be observed with the naked eye at dawn and dusk. Because of this, the ancient Greeks had two names for Venus: Phosphorus in the morning and Hesperus in the evening. Think of the person you need to let go of. Go over the relationship in your head. The good parts and the bad.

The collection itself is a conversation between the goddess and the poet, being split into dedicated sections of the anthology and communicating with one another on similar subjects, from love to war. The collection itself is compiled of prose, poetry and art, and is full of luscious drawings and delicious words, tantalising you and drawing you in for more. Mateer is a brilliant storyteller, using multiple mediums to present her life and opinions in multiple different views. From the pain she suffered at a younger age, to herself as a person now, Mateer guides you through it with colour and light and survival. It’s a truly inspiring read. Museums: Museums provide informative displays and descriptions of the artifacts they have on display. The girls drive out to the middle of nowhere with Jonas in their trunk and try to figure out what to do with him. It’s a story of assault, and survival, and having our stories rewritten without our consent. It’s worship and blasphemy, anger and heartache, capped off with tenderness and self-love and learning to cherish yourself no matter how many people in your life have failed to do so. This book is well done and well written. Julie Barry is a fantastic writer. You can tell that she thought this through and educated herself on many aspects of this novel. It comes across as very simple, but there are profound elements without pretentious.

As you reach good parts of the relationship, thank them. Thank them for their space in your life, the kindness and the comfort, the happiness, the support. Thank them and release them. of my hand. I split a pomegranate in half and let the seeds spill onto my dresser. I pressed some to my tongue. And I sat the rest out for her. I'm still trying to figure out who I am alone so that I know who I am in front of other people. I will not be the girl who plays dress up. I will not be the girl who masquerades. I will not disappear into every relationship if I know [begin strikethrough]which pieces of myself are worth holding onto[end strikethrough] that I am worth holding onto. In some ways, she’s…regressed (not really the right word) the Wynonna character…she’s not the be all/end all, can do everything herself, has her life together, character of the original comic. Her Wynonna is unsure of just about everything, very much needs the other people around her, is rather broken….and in that..weakening, has made her so much more compelling. (which would mean nothing if they hadn’t gotten a great actress to pull it off).My pain has always deserved a voice and I will not deny it that, but I won’t devote my life to it either. Aphrodite Made Me Do It is a dazzling portal of a collection. Trista Mateer erupts with spells of thunder and then gifts you with a careful platter of language to cast them yourself." This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places and incidents either are the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, business establishments, events or locales is entirely coincidental. Smith’s original character wouldn’t make a good TV show…a Syfy original movie? Sure..Sexy bad ass cowgirl shooting up werewolves? That’s an easy 90 minute popcorn muncher on a Saturday night. But an ongoing series? nope.
